Recently I got an email from a “store owner” who wanted to see a product sample. We get requests like that all the time. This one was different. They didn’t tell me any real information about themselves or their store, not even the name of the store. The note ended with a name and a home address (which I know from looking it up on Google maps). We requested more information about them and their shop, so we’ll see if they respond. What do you think? Is it legit?
I own an upscale boutique/ Gift shop here in XXXX and upon looking through your website I am very interested in your megazabba product and was wondering if I might request a sample to see what I think of your product before making a large purchase for my shop. I thank you for your time and look forward to doing business with you very soon.

I think it’s a hoax! Real serious inquiries give you more information to legitimize their business. SOmeone wants a free blanket!!
hoax. if it was a real store, why would they request the most expensive blanket you make??? This person wants something for nothing. I say send them a swatch of the fabric…am I mean or what?
Ooooh, yeah that sounds a bit sketchy to me! And the most expensive blanket…. hm.
I do think it’s interesting that they gave a real address (rather than a p.o. box) because if it WAS a hoax, they’d be easy to turn in…. But still…. I’d say thanks but no thanks. =)
