Today is Pappy’s birthday.  He would have been 93 today.  He was such a good man.  He was a fantastic Grandfather.  He was just the right amount of silly mixed with the right amount of stable.  He could tell the silliest jokes and his laugh was so contagious.  He could love like no one else.  I can still hear him saying “Oh honey.”  in that way that only Pappy could say it.  He was always so humble when he was asked to play the harmonica, but once he got going it was hard to get him to stop.  He couldn’t see very well, but he would still look at the passenger window of the car and let you know when the road was clear.  “Nothin’ big”, he would say.

So, I raise my glass to you Pappy and say, have a “Powerful!” birthday.  I love you and I miss you.
