Today is my buddy Lola‘s birthday. Happy Birthday Lola! She and I have crossed paths many times over the last 10 years. I knew of her in college, then our husbands, who were only our significant others at the time, worked at the same company, in the same room actually. Lola and her not-yet-hubby even crashed our wedding, but I really didn’t mind! Then we had a college class together, and I think we sat next to each other. After that class ended I didn’t see much of Lola until we moved one mile away from her. Our husbands were again working at the same company (different one this time), and ended up hanging out together at a work party. The rest is history. It only took 10 years, but we finally became friends. 5 years later she can still tolerate me! In the last 5 years she has shown me that there is an athlete lurking inside my body, she has shown me how to give until it hurts, & how to be a more supportive friend.
